19. Data Availability Statement

The Pakistan Journal of Gastroenterology (PJG) encourages transparency, reproducibility, and responsible data sharing in scientific research. Authors are requested to provide a Data Availability Statement describing where and how the data supporting the findings of the study can be accessed.

Where possible, authors are encouraged to deposit research data in recognized public repositories or make the data available upon reasonable request, while ensuring compliance with ethical, legal, institutional, and privacy requirements.

The Data Availability Statement should be included in the manuscript before the References section.

Examples of acceptable statements include:

  • The datasets generated and/or analyzed during the current study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.
  • The data supporting the findings of this study are included within the article and its supplementary materials.
  • The datasets used and/or analyzed during the current study are available in a public repository (repository name and accession number should be provided).
  • No new datasets were generated or analyzed during this study.
  • Data cannot be publicly shared due to ethical, legal, or patient confidentiality restrictions. Requests for access may be considered by the corresponding author, subject to institutional approval.

Authors should ensure that any shared data do not contain information that could identify research participants unless explicit consent has been obtained and disclosure is ethically and legally permissible.

The Editorial Office may request additional information regarding data availability during the peer review or editorial process.

Notes

  • A Data Availability Statement is recommended for all research articles.
  • Data sharing should comply with applicable ethical, institutional, and legal requirements.
  • Patient confidentiality and privacy must be protected at all times.
  • Where data cannot be shared, authors should provide a clear justification.
