2. Manuscript Submission

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the Pakistan Journal of Gastroenterology (PJG) Online Journal System (OJS). Submissions sent by email or any other means will not be considered unless specifically requested by the Editorial Office.

Before submitting a manuscript, authors are encouraged to carefully read the journal's Author Guidelines, publication policies, and submission requirements. Authors should ensure that the manuscript complies with the journal's formatting instructions and ethical standards to facilitate a smooth editorial and peer review process.

The corresponding author is responsible for submitting the manuscript and ensuring that:

  • All listed authors have made substantial contributions to the work and have approved the final version of the manuscript.
  • The manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration by any other journal.
  • All required supporting documents are complete and uploaded during the submission process.
  • Ethical approval has been obtained where applicable.
  • Any conflicts of interest and funding sources have been fully disclosed.
  • The manuscript has been prepared according to the journal's formatting requirements.

Authors are required to upload the following files during submission:

  • Cover Letter
  • Title Page
  • Blinded Main Manuscript
  • Institutional Review Board (IRB) / Ethics Committee Approval Letter (where applicable)
  • Signed Author Undertaking Form
  • Conflict of Interest Statement
  • Funding Statement (if applicable)
  • AI Disclosure Statement (if applicable)
  • Informed Consent Statement (where applicable)
  • Supplementary files, datasets, reporting checklists, or other supporting documents (if applicable)

The Editorial Office will conduct an initial technical screening to verify the completeness of the submission, compliance with the journal's formatting requirements, ethical documentation, and similarity screening. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's minimum submission requirements may be returned to the authors for correction before being considered for editorial evaluation or peer review.

Following successful technical screening, manuscripts are assessed by the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Section Editor to determine their suitability for the journal. Suitable manuscripts proceed to the journal's double-blind peer review process, while manuscripts outside the journal's scope or those failing to meet the required scientific or ethical standards may be rejected without external review.

Authors may monitor the progress of their submission through the Online Journal System (OJS). All correspondence regarding editorial decisions, revision requests, and publication status will be communicated through the journal's submission system and the registered email address of the corresponding author.

Submission of a manuscript to the Pakistan Journal of Gastroenterology constitutes confirmation that all authors agree to the submission and accept the journal's editorial, ethical, and publication policies.
